I’m a big time sports radio fan, more specific 790 The ticket based out on Miami. Last week was the ESPY awards, they talked a little about the award and the speeches given that night. That prompted them to play the 1993 speech of Jim Valvano, in which he gave such an inspirational speech and sadly two weeks later he lost his battle with cancer. As I sat there listening to his word I began to weep. I think Ive heard it 4 more times after that. It made me think of how often we take things for granted. In his speech he said that there’s things you should do daily: “You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. Number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special.” Think about that, grab a tissue and enjoy!
